Saint Monica's Senior Citizens Home
The Vocation of Care

Saint Monica's Senior Citizens Home is a Catholic Home set on 40 beautiful wooded acres, and was founded by the Sisters of Saint Rita. The Sisters and a Board of Directors manage it. Our nondenominational admissions policy opens our doors to people of any faith, race, color, gender, age, handicap or national origin. Saint Monica's was designed to avoid the institutional atmosphere in favor of a homey feeling conducive to unhurried gracious living. We participate with our Residents to bring about total well-being.

The Sisters of Saint Rita, along with our Professional Care Staff, extend our arms and embrace all the needs of our Residents, nurturing them in the likeness of our patroness, Saint Rita of Cascia. Our circle weaves these elements together to provide a quality of life unsurpassed by other private institutions.

Among the amenities enjoyed by our Residents are an outdoor rosary walk, chapel, dining room, library and lounges; plus craft, activity, recreation and entertainment areas. Delicious and well-balanced meals are enjoyed in a common, cheerful and relaxed setting. There is a beautician on the premises for the convenience and comfort of the Residents. Our Chaplain provides for the spiritual needs of the Residents. Daily Catholic Mass is celebrated and weekly Protestant services are held in our beautiful Chapel.

Residents must be physically and mentally alert enough to take care of themselves, be mobile and require no skilled nursing care. They may bring their own furnishings, or use those provided by the home. Televisions and telephones are to be provided by the Residents. Rooms are arranged for couples or singles, with apartments, single rooms, or double rooms.

Our Board of Directors of all faiths serves gratis and sets policies and procedures for the good of all. Our staff of professionals, consisting of our Sisters, the Chaplain, and laypeople, labors constantly to make our Residents stay with us fruitful, interesting and very comfortable.

Choosing a retirement center is a difficult task. The Sisters and staff of Saint Monica's Senior Citizens Home believe their devotion and dedication to their Residents is as important as the programs and facilities offered.
